Konica Minolta, the parent company of Konica Minolta Medical Imaging, has acquired Brazilian x-ray equipment manufacturer Sawae Technologica.
Konica Minolta said it plans to use the acquisition to enhance its sales of digital radiography (DR) and computed radiography (CR) products and expand its healthcare business in Brazil. Sawae locally manufactures and sells x-ray equipment, primarily covering four major states in southwestern Brazil but also expanding nationwide.
The transaction was completed through Konica Minolta's Brazilian healthcare sales company, Konica Minolta Healthcare do Brasil, which was established in São Paulo in April 2015. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
