Konica Minolta to show new DR system at RSNA

Konica Minolta Medical Imaging plans to showcase its new AeroDR LT digital radiography (DR) system at RSNA 2015.

AeroDR LT delivers the capabilities of the company's AeroDR XE system in a lower-weight version, the company said. It is designed for use in the radiology department, at a patient's bedside, in an emergency or trauma room, or in an intensive care unit. The device itself weighs 5.5 lb and can hold patients up to 661 lb on a bed.

Advanced digital features include compatibility with Konica Minolta's AeroSync automatic exposure detection technology, as well as roaming capabilities and usability with most fixed and portable x-ray devices. AeroDR LT can also provide image previews within one second of use and deliver fully processed images in as few as six seconds, Konica Minolta said.

The system's lithium ion capacitor lets users perform up to 4.1 hours of imaging or obtain 150 images with just a 13-minute charge time.
