Konica Minolta Medical Imaging subsidiary Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas has introduced a new monitoring service and digital radiography (DR) detector at RSNA 2016 in Chicago.
The AeroRemote monitoring service is a cloud-based, active monitoring software that detects and reports performance issues with the AeroDR wireless flat-panel detectors, as well as provides automatic reports.
It produces monthly reports, by system and user, detailing usage and personnel productivity. Using predictive analytics, AeroRemote gathers hardware status to prescribe actions before an unexpected issue arises, the firm said. Also, it encourages proper user handling by alerting managers when a DR panel has been dropped and sends diagnostic information on panel performance using the panel check tool.
Also at RSNA 2016, Konica Minolta Healthcare introduced its next-generation DR detector, AeroDR HD. The AeroDR HD wireless flat-panel detector features high sensitivity and smaller pixel size in a lightweight and waterproof enclosure, the firm said.
The high-definition detector delivers 100-micron pixel size for a 3,488 x 4,256 pixel count. The portable detector measures 14 x 17 inches and weighs 5.7 lb. It also absorbs impacts from bumps and drops, and it has higher drop, load, and bend resistance, Konica Minolta said.
The detector also has two preprogrammable modes: the high-resolution selection for detailed views of small areas such as extremities and a dynamic range mode for larger areas. Using pixel binning, the high-dynamic range mode aggregates the data to provide faster processing and more contrast for anatomical areas, according to the company.
The new AeroDR HD detector is fully compatible with other AeroDR detectors, the firm added.
