Varex Imaging announced that it plans to purchase Direct Conversion, a Stockholm-based manufacturer of linear-array digital detectors, for 75 million euros ($85.3 million U.S.).
In 2018, Direct Conversion had revenue of 16 million euros ($18.2 million), with double-digit annual growth rates forecasted over the next five years, Varex said. Direct Conversion also has more than 40 million euros ($45 million) in multiyear supply agreements in the works for photon-counting detectors.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, according to Varex.
