Nanox subsidiary USARad will integrate three AI algorithms into its Second Opinions teleradiology service for the detection of chronic conditions on chest and abdominal CT scans.
The AI algorithms included the following:
- HealthCCSng, an AI cardiac algorithm for detecting coronary artery calcium, an early sign of coronary artery disease
- HealthOST, an AI bone algorithm for assessing bone mineral density that also highlights vertebral spine compression fractures associated with risk of osteoporosis
- HealthFLD, an AI liver algorithm for measuring liver density, which can indicate fatty liver disease
Second Opinions is a platform developed by USARad that connects patients with radiologists and other subspecialty physicians for additional consultation on their medical diagnoses. The AI-driven insights will be reviewed and approved by Second Opinions physicians and incorporated into reports for patients who submit eligible chest and abdominal CT scans, Nanox said.
