PET technology will soon be available to residents of southern Idaho and eastern Oregon according to the terms of an agreement between St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center of Boise, ID, and Mobile P.E.T. Systems. The San Diego-based mobile PET provider said its services will be available at St. Luke’s at least two days per week.
Hospital officials believe that the Mobile P.E.T. van will initially provide more than adequate capacity for their 300-mile service area. In case this proves inadequate to service patient volume, St. Luke's has secured arrangements to increase the PET scanner's availability if and when volumes grow.
