Mobile PET notches record Q3 revenues

Expanding utilization of PET services sparked a 100% fiscal third-quarter revenue gain for Mobile PET Systems. The company reported unaudited preliminary fiscal third-quarter revenues of $4.6 million, up 100.1% compared with the $2.3 million in sales reported in the same period in 2001.

For the quarter (end-March 31), the San Diego-based company expects to post an estimated net loss of $1.1 million, including a $414,000 non-cash loss due to an investor relations program. Mobile PET Systems had a net loss of $2 million in the third quarter last year.

The third-quarter revenue gains were achieved without additional deployment of new PET scanners, showing a higher level of PET utilization by physicians, according to the vendor.
