Siemens Medical Solutions’ Biograph lutetium oxyorthosilicate (LSO) PET/CT scanner has been chosen by the U.S. Army and Surgeon General for installation at two of the service’s hospitals, Walter Reed Health Care System in Washington, DC, and Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. The installations, slated for January 2003, are part of a test program to introduce the technology into the U.S. Army’s medical system.
