Siemens Medical Solutions has opened a new research facility dedicated to the development of molecular imaging biomarkers.
The new facility is the latest step toward becoming a full-service diagnostics company, according to Siemens of Malvern, PA. It will be led by vice president Hartmuth Kolb, Ph.D.
Siemens said the facility will have the goal of bringing several new agents to the market over the next five to 10 years. Research and development efforts at the facility will focus largely on oncology and neurology, and also include other areas such as inflammation and microfluidics/nanotechnology research, according to the vendor.
