WASHINGTON - Gamma camera developer GVI Medical Devices of Twinsburg, OH, is launching a new cardiac SPECT gamma camera, called ClearVision SPECT, at this week's SNM meeting.
ClearVision features GVI's Resolve technology, which uses inverse fanbeam collimation and an advanced reconstruction methodology for better at-depth resolution and signal-to-noise ratio, according to the company.
The unit performs scans with patients in the upright seated position, and has an open gantry style that's available in both single- and dual-detector configurations. It can image patients weighing up to 500 lb and has a footprint of 3 x 6 feet, making it easier to site in small rooms, according to the company.
GVI plans to begin shipping ClearVision in the fourth quarter of 2007. The system is pending 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
