Optical imaging developer Spectral Molecular Imaging has received a grant under the U.S. government's Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project (QTDP) program.
The $190,000 grant was awarded by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. The Beverly Hills, CA-based firm will use the funds to advance the development of its SkinSpect system for detecting melanoma and other skin cancers.
