Strong sales of its C-PET cameras helped ADAC Laboratories record higher sales and net income for the company's second quarter (end-April 2). The Milpitas, CA, company said it received orders for 16 C-PET cameras during the period.
For the quarter, ADAC posted revenues of $90 million, up 3% compared with $87.4 million in sales in the same period of 1999. The company's net income was $3.1 million, compared with a second-quarter 1999 net loss of $20.8 million, a figure that included $18 million in one-time charges.
ADAC said that strong demand in the company's PET business is helping to offset weakness in its radiation therapy and information systems units.
