International Isotopes gets FDA OK

Radiopharmaceutical provider International Isotopes announced that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to begin finished radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution. The approval makes the Denton, TX-based firm the only FDA-approved independent commercial contract manufacturer of finished radiopharmaceuticals, according to president and CEO David Camp.

Commercial introduction is expected in the fourth quarter. International Isotopes filed the supplemental new drug application (SNDA) in conjunction with its marketing partner Bracco Diagnostics of Milan, Italy.
