Radiopharmaceutical developer Syncor said its subsidiary, Syncor Advanced Isotopes, has begun commercial production and sales of 18F fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG). The FDG was produced at Syncor’s new cyclotron facility in Ft. Lauderdale, one of two cyclotron facilities recently acquired in the company's purchase of Advanced Isotopes.
Florida Hospital in Orlando was the first customer to receive FDG doses. A second Syncor cyclotron facility, located in Orlando, is scheduled to begin FDG production in early October, according to Woodland Hills, CA-based Syncor.
