Nuclear medicine developer Digirad has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Florida Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine Group. The firm will incorporate the Florida group into a new nuclear cardiology imaging services subsidiary called Orion Imaging Systems. Orion has been formed in a bid to offer nuclear cardiology imaging services to the more than 8,000 cardiology offices in the U.S., according to San Diego-based Digirad.
