PET center operator Integral PET Associates of New York City has signed an agreement with the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center to create a network of seven PET centers in PA over the next six months. Called the Penn PET program, the centers will be operated by Integral PET, with Penn radiologists interpreting scans and overseeing the program's medical operations.
The seven fixed-site PET centers will be opened at community hospitals in the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Network, which consists of 28 hospitals. Future installations in the Penn PET program will be either fixed-site or mobile units.
In related news, Integral PET announced that it has placed an order for seven C-PET Plus cameras from ADAC Laboratories of Milpitas, CA. Some of the scanners will be installed at community hospitals in the Penn PET program, the company said.
