Digirad raises $16 million

Digital gamma camera developer Digirad has secured commitments for $16 million in equity funding. The San Diego-based vendor said the financing would support the firm through 2003, and would be used to support growth of its services division in strategic geographies, to fund advanced product development, and for general operational purposes. Participating investors included GE Equity, Merrill Lynch Ventures, and Vector Fund Management.
