Mobile P.E.T. Systems subsidiary Molecular Imaging has joined forces with St. Pete MRI of St. Petersburg, FL. Molecular Imaging, which provides fixed-site PET imaging services, said it will offer PET to St. Pete's clients at its three imaging centers located in Palm Harbor, Saint Petersburg and Park Place, FL.
Molecular Imaging plans to initially offer mobile PET services to the St. Pete centers during a phase-in period, which gives local healthcare providers time to build physician referrals for PET service in the community. Once patient procedures reach acceptable levels, Molecular Imaging will select a provider and install a stationary PET center, the company said.
Once implemented, the stationary PET center will be San Diego and London, U.K.-based Molecular Imaging's first in the U.S., according to senior vice president Craig Foley.
