Radiopharmaceutical provider Syncor International and Michigan State University have signed an agreement to launch a cyclotron service for western Michigan. The cyclotron, which will produce FDG, will be based at MSU Radiology Center in East Lansing, MI.
Woodland Hills, CA-based Syncor will manage and operate the cyclotron, and will sell the radiopharmaceuticals it produces to healthcare providers throughout the region. The cyclotron will be part of a new 17,000-square-foot addition to the MSU Radiology Center that will also include a PET scanner and a vertical whole-body MRI scanner. The addition is expected to open in April 2003.
