Heston PSA advocates PET use for Alzheimer’s detection

The Academy of Molecular Imaging (AMI) has released a televised public service announcement (PSA) in which actor Charlton Heston advocates the use of PET scans for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. Heston announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s after a PET scan detected signs of the disease. The AMI is launching the PSA this month, which is National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month in the U.S.
