NEO expands its physician training program

The Nuclear Education Online (NEO) program has expanded its physician training program to include nuclear education for cardiologists and radiologists.

To become an authorized user of radioactive materials, a physician must complete 700 hours of training, consisting of 500 hours of experiential and either 80 or 200 hours of classroom and laboratory training, depending on state requirements. The NEO physician education curriculum will offer both 80- and 200-hour courses.

NEO is an educational consortium of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and the University of New Mexico (UNM) Colleges of Pharmacy.
