The American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN) has been awarded a contract from the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) to qualify NCI-designated cancer centers in the performance of advanced quantitative imaging.
ACRIN will develop and implement a process for qualifying NCI-designated cancer centers to perform advanced quantitative imaging procedures including PET, PET/CT, volumetric CT, volumetric MRI, and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI.
ACRIN also will develop standard operating procedures for advanced imaging performance, and will manage all aspects of the image qualification process. Upon qualification, a cancer center will be named a Center of Quantitative Imaging Excellence (CQIE).
