Radiopharmacy operator Triad Isotopes of Orlando, FL, has completed its purchase of a network of 37 Mallinckrodt radiopharmacies from Covidien of Dublin, Ireland.
With the deal, Triad becomes the second-largest radiopharmacy network in the U.S., with more than $300 million in annual revenue and with facilities located in 24 of the top 30 metropolitan areas in the U.S. The Mallinckrodt radiopharmacies produced sales of approximately $180 million in fiscal 2009.
As a result of the transaction, within 12 months, Triad will increase the size of its total staff from approximately 800 employees to more than 1,000, including doubling the size of its downtown home office as corporate support services are added to Orlando.
