Carestream Health of Rochester, NY, is closing its office in Summerside, Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada.
According to a report by CBC News, Carestream will either eliminate or transfer outside of Canada the 40 jobs at the location.
Carestream provides medical and dental imaging systems, information technology, and molecular imaging systems through the PEI office.
The report cited Carestream spokesman Robert Salmon as saying the transition is expected to take between 12 and 18 months. The company decided it would be more efficient to consolidate operations in one location in Israel, he added.
