MDS changes name, ticker symbols

MDS Nordion of Ottawa, Ontario, will officially change its name to Nordion Inc. effective November 1.

The company's ticker symbols on the Toronto Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange also will change to NDN and NDZ, respectively, effective November 1.

The company's name change was approved by vote on March 11 at a special annual shareholders meeting.
