Canadian radioisotope firm Nordion has posted lower revenue for its 2013 fiscal year (end-October 31).
Revenue for fiscal 2013 slipped by 5% to $232.8 million (U.S.), compared with $244.8 million in fiscal 2012. Adjusted net income for fiscal 2013 decreased to $29.6 million from $44.2 million in fiscal 2012.
The company generated $51.3 million in revenue in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2013, a decrease of 31% from $74.7 million in the same quarter of fiscal 2012. Adjusted net income for the fourth quarter decreased to $9.4 million, compared with adjusted net income of $16.8 million in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Despite the declines, the company continued to deliver results in line with its fourth-quarter plan and executed its business strategy, reduced uncertainty, and focused on operations and customer needs, Nordion CEP Steve West said.
