Nuclear medicine firm Digirad saw sharp growth in revenue for its third quarter (end-September 30) thanks to the addition of sales from its acquisition of DMS Health in January 2016. The company posted a net loss for the period, however.
For the most recent quarter, Digirad posted sales of $31.1 million, up 96% from sales of $15.9 million in the corresponding quarter of 2015. The company's net loss for the quarter was $300,000, compared with net income of $19.1 million in the same quarter of 2015, when the company posted an income tax benefit of $18.2 million.
For the nine months to date, Digirad had revenue of $94.3 million, up 109% from revenue of $45.2 million for the first nine months of 2015. The company's net income for the nine months was $12.3 million, compared with net income of $21 million for the corresponding period of 2015.
