Philips to develop 7-tesla MR system

Philips Medical Systems parent Royal Philips Electronics and the U.K.'s University of Nottingham are planning to develop a 7-tesla whole-body MR scanner to be called Intera 7.0T. The system is scheduled to be installed in the fourth quarter of 2004, according to Philips of the Netherlands. It will be based in the MR Centre at the university's school of physics and astronomy, Philips said.
