Modular-building firm HCG Building Technologies of Ceres, CA, has been selected to construct the first modular building designed to house a 3-tesla Signa Excite HD MRI scanner from GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.
The facility is being built for the MRI research alliance project between GE and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). It will be located on the Hillcrest Campus of the UCSD Medical Center and is expected to be operational by January 2006, HCG said.
