Medrad, the Indianola, PA, developer of contrast injection technology, will feature the next generation of its Continuum MR-compatible infusion devices, originally introduced in 2002.
The new iteration offers an expanded set of measurements so clinicians can work with a larger selection of medications, sedatives, and anesthetic agents, according to the company. Medrad believes the new design reduces the potential for confusion and programming errors.
The system also includes Non-Weight Dose, a new dose selection program that assists in dose calculation for drugs not dependent on patient weight. Continuum can dispense cardiac stress agents at flow rates up to 1200 mL/hour and can account for time as well as bolus weight and body weight with the improved bolus function.
