In a deal that unites two developers of medical image analysis software, CorTechs Labs and HealthLytix have agreed to merge, going forward under the CorTechs Labs branding.
CorTechs has focused on brain imaging software, such as its NeuroQuant volumetric imaging software for analyzing MRI scans and LesionQuant software for automating lesion segmentation and quantification on MRI. For its part, HealthLytix has developed a suite of applications that includes RSI-MRI+, an application for prostate cancer detection using a diffusion MRI technique called restriction spectrum imaging (RSI), and CT CoPilot artificial intelligence (AI) software for head CT exams.
CorTechs and HealthLytix have had a distribution agreement since November 2018 that enables CorTechs to sell CT CoPilot alongside NeuroQuant. CorTechs said that integrating the HealthLytix applications into its product line will enable the company to broaden its offerings to its network of 1,000 clinical sites in 35 countries.
The firms noted that CorTechs CEO Chris Airriess, PhD, will be CEO of the combined firm, while HealthLytix CEO Nathan White, PhD, will become chief technology officer of the united company.
