Silicon Valley startup Q Bio has secured more than $80 million in funding to further develop its whole-body scanning technology.
Q Bio is developing a whole-body imaging scanner called Mark I that will scan a patient in 15 minutes or less. Data from the scan will be used with the company's Gemini software to create a "digital twin" that can be used to assess the patient's physiology.
Mark I operates 10 times faster than conventional MRI while maintaining diagnostic quality, and patients can be scanned while standing, sitting, or lying down, according to the firm.
Investors include Andreessen Horowitz and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.
