Bayer is launching its Calantic Digital Solutions AI radiology platform in Australia.
The cloud-hosted platform gives radiologists access to tools and AI applications to support workflow prioritization, detection, and quantification while decreasing workloads. Bayer said the platform was developed with inputs from radiologists for other radiologists to use. It will initially focus on thoracic and neurological diseases in x-ray, CT, and MRI, but the company said it plans to add breast and cardiovascular diseases to the platform.
Calantic is currently being used at Macquarie Medical Imaging, part of Macquarie University Hospital in New South Wales, Australia, on a trial basis. This follows launches in the U.S. and Europe in 2022, and Japan in April 2023.
