Royal Philips plans to integrate icometrix's AI software into its BlueSeal MR scanners to support diagnosis and treatment monitoring of neurological conditions.
New drugs that slow the progression of diseases such as Alzheimer's have been introduced, and it's important to identify patients suitable for these therapies, Philips said. Icometrix's icobrain aria software detects and grades the severity of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), according to the firm. Together with icobrain ms (used for multiple sclerosis) and icobrain dm (used for dementia), it will be available on Philips' BlueSeal 1.5-tesla MR systems as well as its 3-tesla devices.
