Varian debuts IMRT QA software

Varian Medical Systems has released SmartBeam IMRT QA, a software system designed to automate quality assurance in intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for cancer.

SmartBeam IMRT QA combines basic film dosimetry functions with tests developed by leading institutions to provide automated analysis of critical machine parameters, according to the Palo Alto, CA-based vendor. It also allows for comparison of planned and delivered dose-intensity profiles, according to Varian.
