Radiation therapy firm North American Scientific reported fiscal 2005 fourth-quarter revenue of $6.9 million, down 30% compared with the $9.8 million posted a year ago. For the period (end-October 31), the Chatsworth, CA-based firm had a net loss of $44.5 million, compared with a net loss of $7.5 million last year.
Fourth-quarter results were impacted by delays in new product introductions and international registrations, said president and CEO Michael Cutrer.
For the year, NAS had revenues of approximately $32.2 million, up 30% compared with fiscal 2004 revenues of $24.7 million. The company had a net loss of $55.5 million, compared with a net loss of $36.3 million a year ago.
Cutrer said that fiscal 2005 was challenging for the firm as it integrated Nomos and realigned its organization to capitalize on future growth opportunities.
