Radiation oncology firm Elekta of Stockholm, Sweden, will launch a new clinical volumetric intensity-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) product at the upcoming meeting of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), the company announced.
The system will help clinicians target tumors and protect surrounding healthy tissue, as well as reduce radiation therapy times, Elekta said.
The company will also highlight its Elekta Synergy, a multifunctional intensity-modulated and image-guided radiation therapy (IMRT and IGRT) system; Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion for cranial radiosurgery; and Elekta Axesse, a whole-body, robotic image-guided stereotactic treatment management system.
