Private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners has inked an agreement to acquire oncology treatment center operator Radiation Therapy Services in a deal valued at $1.1 billion.
Vestar will pay $32.50 per share plus assumed debt, according to RTS. The company owns 83 treatment centers in 16 states.
RTS' management team is backing the buyout and will retain a significant ownership in the business, according to the company. The deal is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2008, and is subject to shareholder approval.
