Ultrasound and radiotherapy products provider CIVCO Medical Solutions of Kalona, IA, has inked new partnerships at this year's American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) meeting in Los Angeles.
CIVCO will join with Media Cybernetics, a provider of software packages for research applications, to create a software platform to support translational and image-based, decision-support research for cancer care. The two firms will create a data management system that can combine DICOM, DICOM RT, pathology, lab, and genetic information onto one platform.
CIVCO also announced a collaboration with TransCore, a provider of radiofrequency ID solutions (RFID) for transportation and asset management, to create technology that will improve workflow in radiation oncology, the company said. The collaboration will produce a radiation oncology equipment tracking, recording, and verification package.
