Belgian radiopharmaceutical firm Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has sold a Cyclone 30 cyclotron to King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The cyclotron will be used to produce SPECT radioisotopes such as thallium-201 and iodine-123 as well as PET radioisotopes such as fluorine-18, according to the Louvain-la-Neuve-based firm. It will supply Saudi Arabia as well as neighboring countries in the Middle East, IBA said.
