Ion Beam Applications (IBA) of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium has finalized a deal to deliver a large proton therapy system to a hospital in Virginia.
IBA will supply the system to Hampton University in Hampton, VA, which in July broke ground on the Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute. The institute is expected to treat over 2,000 cancer patients a year with the IBA system when it is completed in 2010.
