Elekta taps new North American head

Swedish oncology firm Elekta has appointed James Hoey as CEO of its North American organization.

Hoey co-founded Impac Medical Systems, which was purchased by Elekta in 2005. He is currently a member of Elekta's executive committee as well as head of its software business, according to the Stockholm-based firm.

Hoey replaces Joe Jachinowski, who has left Elekta for a position outside the company.
