Swedish oncology firm Elekta of Stockholm has inked a deal with Massachusetts General Hospital's (MGH) Cancer Center for four of Elekta's radiation therapy treatment systems. The order includes information management software.
MGH of Boston will buy three Infinity systems and one Synergy S system. The Infinity units will allow the cancer center to perform volumetric-modulated arc therapy, as well as all forms of intensity-modulated radiation therapy and image-guided radiation therapy.
Synergy S is a digital linear accelerator. MGH will use it to perform stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy.
The four devices feature Elekta's HexaPod evo RT system, a vision-guided patient positioning platform, Elekta said.
