RTTs receive proton therapy degrees

Twelve radiation therapists (RTTs) received advanced proton therapy certificates on January 13 from Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington, making the graduates the first proton-certified RTTs in the nation.

A portion of the program was held at the ProCure Training and Development Center in Bloomington, IN. Eight of the 12 graduates are employed at the ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Oklahoma City.

ProCure is developing a network of proton therapy treatment facilities across the U.S. Construction is under way on a ProCure facility in suburban Chicago, and additional centers are in development in suburban Detroit, southern Florida, Seattle, and Somerset, NJ.
