Radiotherapy firm Accuray of Sunnyvale, CA, posted lower financial results for the second quarter of its fiscal year 2010 (end-December 31, 2009).
Revenue stayed relatively flat at $57.3 million, compared with $57.6 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2009. The company recorded a net loss of $1.2 million, compared with net income of $1.4 million in the same quarter a year ago.
For the six-month period, revenue decreased 5%, from $113.5 million in the same period of fiscal 2009 to $107.9 million. Accuray posted a net loss of $4.5 million in the six-month period, compared with a net loss of $1.8 million in the first half of fiscal 2009.
During fiscal year 2010, the company expects revenue to be in the range of $220 million to $230 million, up from prior guidance of $215 million to $230 million. CyberKnife system sales revenue, which represents approximately two-thirds of Accuray's total revenue, is driven by customer installation schedules, according to the firm.
