The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Education and Research Foundation has launched a scholarship program in partnership with oncology firm Elekta.
Thanks to a $23,000 annual contribution from Elekta, the Elekta Radiation Therapy Student Scholarship program will award up to four scholarships per year valued at $5,000 each. The program, which is slated to run from 2012 to 2015, will provide financial support to radiation therapy students or medical imaging professionals seeking to change their focus to radiation therapy, according to the ASRT.
To be eligible, applicants must be entry-level students enrolled in an accredited radiation therapy program. Candidates will be selected based on evidence of academic achievement, leadership, and financial need, the ASRT said.
Scholarship applications for the 2012-2013 academic year will be available on November 1, and the application deadline is February 1, 2012.
