Radiation oncology firm Elekta has inked a deal with Iraq's Ministry of Health to provide 10 linear accelerators to be installed throughout the country.
The deal includes 10 Elekta Synergy Platform linear accelerators to be delivered -- two each -- to Ministry of Health sites in Babil, Basra, Karbala, Missan, and Nasiriyah, the company said.
The sale includes treatment planning software, Mosaiq oncology information systems, patient fixation systems, and associated services, Elekta said.
The total contract is valued at more than $16 million, and shipment is scheduled to begin in early 2014.
