Proton therapy technology developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has received an order for a proton therapy system from Medstar (Shanghai) Leasing, a subsidiary of Concord Medical Services Holdings.
The system will be installed at Beijing Proton Medical Center. IBA said it will equip the hospital with its ProteusPlus four-room configuration, including three gantry rooms and one fixed-beam room. All rooms will be outfitted with IBA's last-generation pencil-beam scanning capability, according to the vendor.
The deal, which includes a multiyear comprehensive maintenance contract, is worth more than $78.8 million U.S. and is subject to financing, IBA said. The company expects to book the order in the fourth quarter of this year.
