IBA inks deal to install cyclotron in South Korea

Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has signed a contract to install its Cyclone 70 cyclotron at the Institute for Basic Science in Daejeon, South Korea.

Researchers from the Institute for Basic Science plan to use Cyclone 70 at the institute's upcoming Rare Isotope Accelerator for On-line Experiments (RAON) complex to drive the discovery and production of new, rare isotopes. The installation will be the fifth of its kind and is valued at between $13 million and $16 million, according to IBA.
