B-K Medical launches Mini Focus scanner

Analogic subsidiary B-K Medical of Copenhagen, Denmark, has launched a new portable ultrasound scanner called Mini Focus.

The system weighs 12.6 kg (27.7 lb) and is based on digital beamformer technology, according to the company. It supports both color Doppler and tissue harmonic imaging techniques, and can also conduct prostate imaging using B-K's 8667 end-fire dedicated prostate transducer with a biopsy attachment.

B-K said the system is well-suited for the in-office urology market, but can also be used for general ultrasound applications like abdominal, musculoskeletal, breast, cardiac, small-part, and vascular procedures.

Mini Focus has an internal archiving system that allows users to save and replay images on the scanner's internal hard drive. The system's USB port also allows users to offload images to a USB-compatible drive like a flash drive.
